Employment Opportunity

SWITCH is a student managed health care centre that provides after-hours interprofessional clinical services and health programs from the Westside Clinic. We are a non-profit registered charity which exists to lower the barriers to health care access for residents of Saskatoon’s core neighborhoods. Nutrition Supervisor

This is a part-time, salaried, contract one year position with a start date of May 1, 2009 located in Saskatoon. Eight of ten hours weekly will be spent on the two SWITCH shifts - Wed. 5-9pm & Sat. 10:30am-2:30pm. The remainder of the ten hours will be spent on shopping, food prep, helping with our occasional community kitchens and inventory. The salary is $15/hour.

Job duties:

1.Plan ‘menu’ and oversee food prep for both SWITCH & Fitness-Food-Fun, a drop-in chronic disease management program.
2.Acquire the necessary supplies for each shift & maintain inventory.
3.Organize and direct social team as needed for food prep.
4.At the end of the shift, make sure social team has cleaned up, labeled supplies and put everything away.
5.Shop for necessary food and supplies.
6.Help with the occasional community kitchens scheduled by the Program Committee.

Job requirements:

* Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and be proactive about seeking direction;
* Works equally well with all ages and can maintain accountability to SWITCH Council;
* Ability to work flexible hours (mostly evening and weekend work);
* Use of a vehicle and computer.

Qualifications:

* Excellent organizational skills (including time management, communication management, and ensuring essential tasks are completed on time);
* Excellent facilitation skills, including the ability to develop rapport and trust and facilitate relationships.
