The
Document Menu
Security & Privacy concern to be aware of
Located
in the <Start> menu, the <Documents> menu
is a mixed blessing. It
provides short-cuts to your most recently opened files and programs,
allowing you to access them again quickly. But
it's also an easy way for other people to see what you've been working
on (or not!) at a glance.
If you're working
on sensitive and private documents, you may want to occasionally clear
the <Documents> menu.
To clear
the <Documents> menu:
- select or single-click
on <Start> with the left mouse button,
- next, select
<Settings> or hover the mouse pointer over <Settings>
- when the <Settings>
menu opens, select or single-click on <Taskbar & Start Menu>
- the <Taskbar
Properties> window opens
- select or single-click
on the tab marked <Start Menu Programs>
- under the <Documents
Menu> section, select or single-click on <Clear>,
and then select or single-click <OK>
when you check your
<Documents> menu now, you'll have cleared all traces of
your recent work.
