Microsoft Word Selecting Text Tip in Microsoft Word - Mouse Action
This is one of the best tips I ever learned because of the enormous amounts of frustration it has saved me over the years. I'm sure we've all experienced flying up and down the screen in Word when trying to highlight something. You know, clicking and dragging to the end of a page trying to highlight a certain portion of text only to have your screen scroll wildly while a whole bunch of text gets highlighted that you just didn't want! Well there is a simple solution to this incredibly frustrating exercise. Click with your mouse at the beginning of the section that you want to highlight. Then scroll if you must to the end of the section that you wish to highlight. With the [SHIFT] key pressed down click after the last letter that you wish to highlight and all of your text should highlight black (or whatever colour you have your highlighting set at). Sometimes the simplest tips can be real frustration savers - this is one of those tips!
