Split Screen Feature - Microsoft Word

Have you ever needed to copy and paste or cut and paste information within a large document but dreaded the amount of scrolling needed to get from one section to another?

Microsoft Word has a nice tool that is meant to make working within large documents much easier - it's called Splitting A Window and is actually quite easy.

Open up any Word document on your screen. In the main menu bar go to <WINDOW> and then choose
<SPLIT>. A thin grey line will appear across your Word document moving according to your mouse
movements.

Position this thin grey line anywhere in the Word document and click once with your left mouse button. Presto - the Word document has now been segmented into two separate document windows, each with their own independent controls.

This opens up a lot of possibilities to easily move text within a document without all of the excessive scrolling. It also allows you to reference other areas of a document while working on the task at hand.

To get rid of the document split simply go back to the main menu, choose <WINDOW> again and then choose
<REMOVE SPLIT>. The document split should vanish from your screen!

The keyboard action to split a screen is ALT+CTRL+S. Repeat the action to get rid of the document split.

A simple feature but very useful!
