Changing the appearance of how text will display in a forwarded email

 

Question:
"Is there an easy way to remove these >>>> signs in an email message before forwarding the message to another person? I usually just keep hitting the delete key to get rid of these signs and was just wondering if there is an easier way."


Answer:

Here's instructions on how to rid yourself of the Greater Than Sign from appearing in each line of text when forwarding an email.

To turn off the > in Microsoft Outlook 2000

1. Go to Tools
2. Choose Options
3. First tab in dialogue box that pops up will be Preferences
4. At top, select Email Options
5. That is where you make changes for how messages are handled

To turn off the > in Microsoft Outlook Express

1. Go to Tools

2. Choose Options

3. 4th tab across in dialogue box that pops up you will have a choice between Sending and Mail Sending Format ... choose bottom "mail sending format"

4. Click on either HTML or Plain Text (which ever you use to send email)

5. At the very bottom, you'll find, a check box before the text "indent the original text with a ___ " Make sure you eliminate the > from the box.
