For Beginners - about links

The DAWN Canada "Expanding Our Horizons" Tech3 Project technoloy CD contains a diversity of technology information, tips, tutorials, and frequently asked questions that we hope you will find useful.

It has been designed using HTML - Hyper Text Markup Language - which is the computer layout script or language used to design Web pages that can be viewed either online (connected to the Internet) or offline using an Internet browser.

Two words in the above paragraph, HTML and browser appear to sighted readers as underlined text. Underlined text on this CD are all links. When you click on underlined text or links, they will move you to another section on this CD, either on the present page or to a new page.
In this previous case, when you click on either of the two words HTML or browser, you'll be transported to the Glossary page where you will find definitions for the word you either selected or clicked on with your mouse or by keyboard action.

Hence, you will find this CD to contain information exactly the way it would appear on a website except that you will be viewing it offline -- that is, without an active or live connection to the Internet. In some instances, you will find optional links to websites on the Internet which would require you to connect to the Internet either from home, school, a friend's computer, or a public access site.
